Mommy prayed that I would be walking by two. God made it clear that, that wasn't His timing. We are still praying for big miracles. Walking and Talking. Kiley Joy is two years old. Beautiful as ever! Kiley spends most of her day on her feet cruising along furniture. We are thankful to God for this. She is starting to walk along side holding one hand. Still practicing this one. As always, your prayers are powerful and we thank you for them. Please pray boldly.

Swim Lessons with my cousins - July 2006

Swimming is great therapy for Kiley Joy. She learned a lot and she has no fear...yikes! Hopefully she will be swimming like a fish next summer.

Welcome Addison Faith

Kiley Joy proudly introduces her new baby sister Addison Faith Cynthia Williams.
Born May 30, 2006 at 10:32 am. 5 lbs. 10 oz. and 19 in. long.
Addison means "awesome" and this combined with Faith is what we strive to live with everyday ("Awesome Faith"). Cynthia is her grandma's name and we wanted to honor her for the amazing woman of God that she is. We know God sent us Addison as a precious gift and we know she will be so amazing in Kiley Joy's life.

Crawling !!

We are so excited to share with you that Kiley Joy is crawling. She is up and all over the house! She pulls to stand on anything in sight and she often bear crawls on hands and feet (which is the next step towards showing signs of walking).

Kiley started crawling about a month ago. Your prayers are so important to us and we hope seeing her progress encourages you to continue your requests to our Lord and Healer. We know He is faithful. Look how far she has come!

Our trust is in The Healer. He is good. Next step...walking!

The Little Things!

This week Kiley Joy surprised us with a new skill. It's simple, yet once again overcomes a characteristic of her syndrome. It is often noted that the "sucking/swallowing" reflex is absent. Kiley is learning to suck from a straw.

Here is Kiley before and after her surgery. So far we have not seen her eyes drifting and they are staying straight. The doctor says there is a 5-15% chance the muscles will go back to their previous position. We are praying against that!

Kiley Joy's eye surgery was a success! She is recovering perfectly. It took us about 2 hours to calm her down after she woke from the anesthesia. They said that was quite normal. It was one of the hardest things we have ever experienced. We felt helpless as she wrestled around in our arms. Nothing seemed to comfort her for the time being. And her tears were blood streaked from the surgery. It was a very desperate feeling for a mommy and daddy to see their little girl like that. However, she did eventually calm down and we all went home about 11:30 am and the three of us took a three hour nap together. Not one of us moved a muscle!!! She is back to her normal self giggling and smiling. She shows so much anticipation to explore her "new" world with focus and a sparkle in her eyes.
We placed her in front of her Praise Baby video just hours after her surgery and she watched the screen wide-eyed for about 5 minutes straight. Something she has never before had much interest in. It really captured her attention. She smiled as the different scenes flashed on the screen. We have also noticed a GREAT improvement in her distance vision. She is able to focus and hold attention on an object at a long distance.
God remains gracious to our family and His goodness is new everyday!

New Found Strength

Imagine the joy we felt this morning when we entered Kiley Joy's room only to see her STANDING at the side of her crib waiting for us!

This is the first time she has had the strength and the motor planning to do this!

We are so proud. God hears our prayers and answers in His time. Thank you Lord for small miracles.

Specific Prayer Request....Eye Surgery

Thank you for your continued prayers! We have a specific request. Kiley Joy has been cleared for eye surgery on Wed. April 26th. Please pray that everything goes smoothly. The surgery should improve her visual depth perception. We are trusting this will help in much of her development.

Small Miracles

Kiley Joy is doing really great! Daddy and mommy are happy to report that she is getting in to everything. She is so curious and very motivated. She is army crawling all over the house. She pulls her knees under now and almost has her arms up. It won't be long! She loves the walker as of lately. She does circle laps around the house. It is so fun to watch. She even has the hang of reverse when she gets stuck! This is GREAT motor planning development. The last two days we have seen a huge improvment in her speech. She usually is silent most the day. But she has discovered some new sounds and uses them often. It brings tears to our eyes and we sit VERY still and quiet and listen to every noise she makes. We thank Jesus for every sound as we know these are small miracles. Kiley has a speech evaluation on Friday March 31st. Please pray that she expresses these sounds so the therapist will decide to keep her as a patient. As always, we thank you for your prayers! Our Tuesday night prayer time has been so encouraging.

Our family has been so blessed by so many people expressing their committment to pray for Kiley Joy. She is being prayed for all over the world. Many parts of the US, Korea, and Mexico. We know God listens to the humble hearts of His children and we believe prayer moves God. Kiley Joy is doing well! Big step this morning! She turned around in her high chair and pulled herself up to a kneel. Scared us!! But we were so excited. I gues we now get to use the safety strap!!!! This is a good sign because the stronger her arms get the closer she is to pulling herself up on things, which of course helps with the crawling and soon walking!

The Cry of our Hearts

Prayer Warriors,

September 27, 2004, God blessed our family with an amazingly beautiful baby girl, Kiley Joy Williams. She is the joy of our lives, our most precious gift from God. A tiny miracle sent from heaven to bless our family. She has fulfilled many dreams and continues to touch us in a way we have never known. Love like this is priceless.

When Kiley Joy was six months old we noticed a fairly significant “delay” in her development. We had her assessed and started therapy twice a week. This has continued to date. As time went on the “delays” increased which caused more of a concern. We have seen many doctors and endured several tests.

December 2005, Kiley Joy was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome. This is a rare chromosome arrangement that takes place at conception with a deletion in the 15th chromosome. The medical prognosis is what leaves our hearts in despair. It is uncertain whether Kiley Joy will walk. If walking is accomplished, it usually takes place sometime between three and six years of age. Kiley Joy will not talk and may achieve minimal forms of communication. Fluent use of sign language is not achieved. She will require assistance with all daily needs. 80% of children with this syndrome suffer from seizures starting any time from infancy to the age of three. We are told there is no medical improvement available for her. However, Kiley Joy attends occupational, physical and speech therapy 4-6 times a week. It is hard work and definitely well-worth the hours. We will continue to provide the absolute best care possible for Kiley Joy.

Our pain is great and our hearts are heavy. We are weary, weak, and feel stripped of so many dreams and desires. However we are reminded in Mathew 17:20 “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed nothing will be impossible for you.”

We are eager to share with you the cry of our hearts and our prayer for Kiley Joy. We are praying in full faith for a miracle. We are asking God to heal HIS baby girl, that he has so graciously loaned to us to care for. Our request is bold and our hearts are open and patiently waiting for His answer. John 14:13-14 says “and whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”
Please join us in prayer as a petition to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are asking that you remember Kiley Joy and our family in your prayer time. We are praying for healing, boldness, strength, and wisdom. We will be on our knees before The Healer every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm. We are meeting in the chapel at Saddleback Valley Christian Schools (26333 Oso Rd. San Juan Capistrano, CA. 92675). We invite you to come and pray with us, or simply join in our prayers wherever you might be.

“Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Mathew 18:19-20

We are all created in the image of God. The fact is that we are all precious in the sight of God. Jesus was God in the Flesh. He came to show us love, compassion, and most importantly, he gave us eternal life. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6. Jesus showed compassion to those that were sick and downtrodden. We are committed to follow in His footsteps to further His kingdom.
